March went out like a lion on a snow-blown Friday, March 31, but a hardy few — and relatively new — volunteers still showed up to help paint interior doors and trim boards as we prepare to install flooring, windowsills, and kitchen cabinets. Many thanks to SKP, a father-son group from Denver that volunteered to help with construction on House #14 on Saturday, July 30. Their youth, energy, and enthusiasm enabled the Grand County Habitat crew to accomplish in a single day what normally might have taken a month. By early February 2022, Habitat volunteers and future homeowner Michael Bunker began work on the laminate floors and bathroom tile at House #13 in Hot Sulphur Springs. The doors have been ordered and the doorknobs have arrived. Interior trim work will continue until the home is complete, possibly within the coming weeks.
